We were referred to Beth and the team at Speak to Me for our two year old who was having language difficulties. Beth took the time to listen to us, examine Kingston’s language and put together training, and programs for us to follow as a family. She knew early on we were researchers, so always gave us a ton of information & material which we have been able to put into practice. Beth has a calm, and lovely demeanour which assisted in the process greatly as Kingston was able to warm to her, and speak with her as he would us. We saw a noticeable improvement in Kingston's lanuage, and more importantly we have a plan to increase his language and someone who we can check in with moving forward. I cannot recommend Beth enough.

We went to see Gemma with our son who was a couple of months off from starting school. He was having a lot of difficulty making certain sounds, which we attribute to countless ear infections and grommets. We had been to a speech therapist before but had limited progress. This was not the case with Gemma, he came on in leaps and bounds. She has the best approach with children, you can tell that she really likes children and enjoys her job. Our son looked forward to his sessions and had no idea that he was working towards speech goals. He speaks so clearly and beautifully now. Gemma cracked it! We cannot recommend her enough.

As a four year old our son's speech was very difficult to understand and this caused him huge frustration and anger. It was such a relief to find Caroline...she has a friendly, bubbly disposition that enables her to connect with children on their level. She continually seeks new ways of making the learning experience fun. We greatly appreciated Caroline's professionalism: she always took the time to fully explain the learning process to us, this coupled with the supplied notes and resources made it easy for us to reinforce our son's learning at home. Our little boy has just started school this term...he is happy, smiley and best of all he is able to be understood by everyone! We would gladly recommend Caroline.

Our family owes a lot to Rosie. She has taken our boy from having 30 words at three and a half to speaking fluently at five and a half. She has a clear set plan so that we can work towards goals with homework and see great progress. My boy loves coming to see Rosie as sessions are always fun.

Caroline has been working with my three year old daughter for some months now. She is a talented speech therapist with a real love for children. Caroline has endless patience and is adept at turning negatives into positives. We highly recommend her.

I have known Caroline since she began working as a speech and language therapist at Wairau Valley Special School. Caroline developed a close and professional relationship with all students she worked with. Sessions were always looked forward to as there was a guarantee that they would be fun, interactive and move at a good pace. I have had the privilege of observing Caroline at work with a group, individuals and presently with my grandson. I would thoroughly recommend Caroline as an innovative, creative and caring therapist. She is always well prepared and professional in her approach to her work. Caroline provides excellent follow through work to be completed at home, and is a 'problem solver' for any issues arising. Caroline works well as a member of a team and makes positive and realistic contributions. I've been impressed by her enthusiasm for her work.

Rosie,

Thanks a lot for being a fantastic speech and language therapist. My son has developed so much and with your amazing input he has grown in confidence and become quite a chatterbox! You offer a really family friendly service which I am truly grateful for. The sessions you make fun, diverse and tailor it to the child's personality and interests. I would recommend you 100% to others.

From our initial assessment with Rosie right through until our 4 year old daughters final speech lesson I was so impressed with Rosie and the service she offers.  Her gentle and kind nature meant she was able to gain our daughters trust quickly enabling her to focus on the lesson.  Rosie always made it fun and interactive.  So much so that our 3 year old daughter always asked when was it her turn to play with Rosie. Our daughter is gaining confidence all the time because her speech has improved so much she can be clearly understood.  Rosie was also able to provide us as parents with the skills to continue working on our daughters speech development by ourselves. I have no hesitation in recommending Rosie as a speech therapist and I will certainly be returning to her if I have any concerns regarding my other children's speech development.

Rosie is a committed professional who provides intelligent insight and advice and is always happy to try different strategies to reach the goal. Our son was 4 years old when we started the sessions and he was only able to name things, but after only a short time he was starting to ask for things and much more. James enjoyed the sessions and always looked forward to the next one! We are very grateful for all the work she has done and we strongly recommend her as a speech therapist.

We met Rosie in early 2010 during a difficult time for us as parents of Sarah who was 2 years and half and still wasn’t talking. We were asked to seek speech therapy as a way to improve our daughter’s language skills which were lagging behind her peers and affecting her social interaction. Soon my child warmed up to Rosie and was looking forward to their weekly regular sessions. Through Rosie’s dedication and patience, we climbed the steep hill, one step at a time. Often Rosie acted as counselor for us parents too, advising and alleviating our fears and concerns when we needed moral support. Her exemplary dedication and professionalism played an immense part in our child’s language development and we can never thank her enough. Today when we sit with Sarah to read a story together at bedtime, or when she comes back from school eager to share with me her school day activity, I often look back with wonder at the past when things were oh so very different. A time when hope was as rare as the few syllables Sarah was able to enunciate. Rosie changed all that. Through applied therapy, behavioral changes, weekly sessions , homework and exercises , to our greatest relief , Sarah began to speak, first it was a one  word sentence or a reply,  then two ,then three , a little awkward at times but she had it in her and we never gave up, neither did Rosie. Now Sarah is a fully fluent 6-year old child and a top pupil in her class. One thing Rosie taught us is that speech acquisition and cognitive skills are two different things.  With the right therapy and early interventions, your child too can achieve his/her true full potential.

No single child is the same, our parents used to tell us, and likewise no speech therapist is the same. We were lucky and blessed to have had Mrs. Rosie Dwyer as Sarah’s speech therapist. She helped many children like Sarah, during her time at Dubai Community Health Centre. We wish her the best and we strongly recommend her as she has helped us greatly. I had few other therapists before and after Rosie, and no one has lived up to Rosie’s standards.

Sam, my son, was diagnosed with a strong speech and language disorder at the age of three. Rosie was my son’s speech and language therapist for over two years. We had to fight to get an appointment with her as her waiting list was very long. She was very popular in town, as her reputation as a speech and language therapist was extremely good and everyone wanted her. Sam has gone from not talking at all at the age of three years, to being able to have a proper conversation and using sentences to communicate at the age of five. Rosie created a specific program for my son’s needs which was amazing. She gets the personality of each child she works with and she sets the exercises according to the child's need. My son’s speech and language is amazing today thanks to Rosie. We miss you dearly Rosie.

At the age of two and a half, when my son Rayan was still struggling with words, Rosie got him to express himself and taught him his first communication skills. Rosie has been a great therapist and we will miss her professionalism, well structured intensive sessions, input and valuable advice. But above all we will miss her kindness and her nice smile that for nearly three years gave us hope and encouragement. We will miss having Rosie in Dubai and wish her the best of luck back home in her future projects.

Rosie has been my grandson Ryan's speech therapist from the time he was diagnosed, at two years. From the start she was dedicated to helping Ryan, often going the extra mile to do so. To keep his interest she made him games and books just for him about the things he liked most. This made him feel special and he always looked forward to her visits. She helped us to understand his condition and showed us how to assist in his learning. Ryan is due to start school in a week and his speech and language is now equal to any other five year old. Throughout it all Rosie has shown great patience and understanding, always encouraging Ryan without making him feel 'different'. We will miss Rosie but any child who has the good fortune to know her will, like us, be richer for the experience. I would gladly recommend Rosie for any post with children and I and my family wish her good luck and good fortune in the future.

My daughter Holly attended Speech and Language Therapy with Rosie for one year. Holly completed both articulation and tongue thrust therapy programmes, resulting in her overall intelligibility improving significantly over time. Holly always enjoyed visiting Rosie who sought out fun ways to keep her interested and on task. Rosie would give me helpful feedback and suggestions of activities I could do with Holly at home. Rosie was always friendly yet professional.
